Striker (like Benzema, can operate on the wide areas)

Currently leading Ajax's frontline.

Lightning pace.

Dribbling skills.

Deadly poacher.

Hardworking.

A bit like Benzema, but less strength, more trickery.

Possibility : A long time United target. Very possible to negotiate with Ajax.

With United already boosting the elegance, skills, brilliance berbatov; the lightning pace, lethal poacher hernandez; and also the strong, composed target man macheda, United could opt to re-inforce other areas say, midfield?

Steven Defour

Midfielder

Currently captaining Standard Liege.

A playmaker with ball winning abilities.

A box to box midfielder.

Fabregas-class type of player.

Could really address United's lack of creativity issue.

Possibility : very very possible. Fergie sent him a 'get well soon card' when he was seriously injured not too long ago. A long time and long term target.

Lassana Diarra

Midfielder (mainly a defensive one)

Currently warming Real's bench after starring for the past season.

Tough, combative all action midfielder.

Loves chasing and harrying the ball, and opponents.

Boundless stamina and tactical awareness.

Could really inject bite and protect United's back line.

Possibility : With Real preferring Khedira, Alonso and Granero, it is very possible. Admired by Fergie.

Jack Rodwell

Midfielder(also available as centre back)

Currently a star at Everton.

Strong, composed, box to box player.

Rugged, good at both attacking and defending.

Surprisingly skillful and pacey for a big man.

Could marshal United's midfield and some say he could turn out to be an even better centre back.

Possibility : Admired by Fergie, and Everton do have history with United. So, a possibility indeed.

Well, i could list Torres, Aguero, and other mega star but they are likely impossible due to financial constraints and other factors. These players i mentioned are those who are linked heavily to United. Not just some wild rumors, but possibilities after deep analysis on several highly rated websites. Thats my opinion.
